Composition and working process of the equipment
The equipment consists of 5 main parts, there are spindle part, slide part, tailstock part, workpiece cooling part, hydraulic system, electrical system.


In the preparation stage, the mold and sheet metal are installed first, then the machine’s loading tail top moves forward to press the blank tightly onto the mold. The parameters are set and then the machine starts to spin, the spindle drives the mold and the blank to rotate at high speed. Three spinning wheels spin the blank according to the pre-set trajectory. When the metal flow is formed, the spinning wheels and tail top return to their original position. Finally, unloading is carried out.
In the spinning process, the metal will be pressurized to flow along the axial and radial direction and undergo tensile distortion. So after the spinning of CNC spinning machine, the wall thickness of the workpiece will be gradually thinned, probably the wall thickness thinning rate reaches 50%-60% of the original thickness. But the workpiece processing and molding process time is short, cold extrusion once formed. So it is suitable for mass production of the same size workpiece. On the contrary, it is inconvenient and costly for projects in the development stage.

If the CNC spinning technique is chosen, the development cycle can be shortened considerably. In contrast to cold extrusion presses, CNC flow forming machines use less costly molds.
